Bio[]

Physical Appearance[]

Pete is a penguin man with a dark grey muscular body, white area on his chest, dark black pupils, thin black eyebrows, the top part of his head is mostly bald, with grey hair that is combed over in the back. The top part of his beak is light grey and the bottom part is orange.

He wears a chef's uniform consisting of a white collared shirt with buttons in the front, a navy and white pinstripe apron, pants, and shoes.

Personality[]

Pete is arrogant and thinks little of people around him. Pastry Pete helps Bertie and Dakota knead dough, standing too close and touching their arms too much. He talks authoritatively and tends to force his apprentices to do things without their consent or even asking them in the first place. Pete is also shown to be mysoginistic in his tendencies have no respect for women. This shows heavily when he forces each woman's face in the experimental banana roux, pushing their heads closer and closer to the steaming pot under the guise of having them smell and see it better. In reality, it is to show his dominance over them.

Background[]

Season 1[]

Pastry Pete is first introduced when Tuca loses Speckle's sugar to Pete's nephew. They run into his bakery and then meet him for the first time. To retrieve the sugar, Tuca challenges him to have a croissant bake off with Bertie. Bertie ends up winning but the "sugar" was already poured into a cake mix. After winning, Pete offers her an apprenticeship that works around her work schedule. After a while, he starts trying to show Bertie the ropes of baking by standing over her, grabbing her arms and hands, touching and moving her body physically, pushing her to work faster and harder, etc. Eventually, he tries to show her his experimental banana roux, which he shoved her face as closely as possible saying she "really needs to get in there" to truly see the color and smell change.

Later on, he does this with a temporary apprentice, Dakota, who confronts him and then quits. He then turns to Bertie and claims not everyone has what it takes to be a baker, implying he did nothing wrong and Dakota was merely too sensitive. Bertie eventually confronts him about his behavior and says she will open her own bakery. He laughs and gives her a time limit to do so. Bertie gets denied everywhere she applies, later finding out he has told everyone to not sell to her info provided by the other employee that mostly sweeps the bakery. Bertie storms into his bakery and calls him out for doing such a thing. He then grabs her hair (or well feather), holds her up, and claims she will never work anywhere in this town. Tuca filmed this and eventually uploaded it online.

Season 2[]

After the video was uploaded, Pete was "cancelled" for about a week and then released a half hearted apology, claiming it was all "alleged," as if the video was not hard evidence of anything. He then sells a new pastry called "Sorry Strudels" outside of Bertie's place of employment. The public appears to eat it up and he doesn't face any lasting consequences for sexual harassment.
